Meet our first AMBASSADOR

We are honored to announce our first Lagotto Romagnolo Foundation AMBASSADOR and are proud to start in the country of origin in Italy.
Welcome with us Angela Del Carro who lives in the north-west of Italy near Turin. Angela is a graduate with honors in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Turin.
Angela met the breed in 2000 during the World Dog Show in Milan and brought her first Lagotto home in 2003. Her parents own the kennel named "Ca' del Corsi" in Italy that she is advising as a veterinarian.
Angela has spent years studying morphology and the character of the breed. She has seen many Lagotti with neurological and ophthalmological problems and was very concerned about these health diseases. Angela decided to test all her Lagotti for joint, genetic and eye diseases. Angela's goal is to preserve the characteristics of the breed to have a morphologically correct dog, a good character and overall healthy Lagotti with a long lifespan.
As a veterinary doctor, Angela believes in the utility of research and in the tools that it gives to breeders to plan the right matching and prevent the transmission of diseases to the future generations. Angela's goal is to promote genetic testing and to encourage breeders to share the results with the club and to the Lagotto Romagnolo Database.

After three month of hard work, we are proud to present the first DATABASE that brings all the data together that is essential to know about a specific Lagotto. We request basic health testing to be included in the database but Lagotto owners can add much more information like parents and even the full pedigree. Potential puppy buyers finally have a source to verify if a dog received basic health testing. Seach for a dog here: http://lagottobreeders.org/database/
